Our goal is to have zero occupational diseases. Every employee entering a production site is required to wear and use personal protective equipment, and be fully trained for the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities. To minimise risks, inspection supervisors are placed in every workshop to ensure personnel follow all safety requirements.
Safety on board our vessels is overseen by chief officers, an assigned person onshore and our port captains. For vessels operating in international waters, our procedures and safety documents take into account safety requirements of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, to ensure safety at sea, prevention of human injury or loss of life.
Safety is vital across our fishing and processing operations and forms a fundamental part of all our training.
While the majority of Pacific Andes training and development has been industry focused compliance based training, leadership development has been introduced in some areas of our operations and we will continue to build on this.
